Peter Stevenson, President/CEO/Founder

Hello, my name is Peter Stevenson, President, CEO, and Founder of Better U Foundation Academy, Inc. First, let me sincerely thank you for visiting our website.

Over 35 years ago, I worked in a maximum-security prison with youthful offenders. I will never forget the day I encountered a 12-year-old child incarcerated for murder. In that moment, I asked myself, “What is wrong with this picture?” That question stayed with me throughout the years. As time passed, I continued to reflect on the challenges facing our youth and asked myself, “What can I do to help make a difference?” Unfortunately, youth crime has continued to rise, and more facilities are being built just to keep up. But I believe the solution is not just more incarceration—it is intervention, support, and love.

That belief led me to create Better U Foundation Academy, Inc.

We are a nonprofit organization committed to changing the lives of at-risk youth and strengthening families across America. We believe in both the child and the family unit—but we also recognize that both need guidance, support, and the right tools to succeed.

Together with my Board of Directors, we have developed programs and therapeutic counseling opportunities designed to empower youth and their families with life skills, structure, and hope for a better future. Our children are our future, and they deserve every opportunity to succeed. They need love. They need guidance. Most importantly, they need someone to believe in them.

At Better U Foundation Academy, every child will know they are valued, supported, and capable of becoming all they are meant to be. Because family is not always defined by blood—it is defined by love, commitment, and community. As the saying goes, “It takes a village to raise a child.” We invite you to be a part of that village.
